Before the business and legal issues of the estate can be pursued, it will be necessary to obtain Funeral Director's Declaration of Death Certificates, and, in some cases, there may be a need to obtain a provincial death certificate. A Funeral Director's Declaration of Death will be issued by Jamieson's Funeral Service, and is commonly used to provide proof of death at financial institutions, to transfer utility accounts, and to notify Service Canada of a death. A provincial death certificate is required for transfer of land titles, or in some cases for court procedures. Our staff will be able to advise you on whether a provincial death certificate is required, and if so, will obtain one for you.
