Passed away at the Glenboro Health Centre on Monday May 23, 2016 at the age of 76 years, with her family by her side, StellaMae Vertz (nee Fredriksson) of Glenboro MB.

StellaMae was born on August 10, 1939 in Deloraine MB, the youngest in a family of six children, to parents Rev. Johann & Tina Fredriksson. The family moved to Lundar MB when StellaMae was eleven years old & later moved to Glenboro when she was fourteen. It was in Glenboro, where she met the love of her life, John. The two were married on April 2, 1955 & were later blessed with a family of five children, three boys & two girls.

StellaMae loved to read, solve word puzzles & was extremely well informed. She spent many hours in the garden creating an environment that was inviting to the local bird population. The Ruby Throated Hummingbird was a favorite. She enjoyed cooking and could whip up a very tasty meal in a very short period of time with little notice.

StellaMae was an excellent dancer and loved socializing, Rarely did a social go by that her and John did not attend. She was a good athlete. She could swim effortlessly for miles. Golfing was a summer favorite, She especially enjoyed ladies golf nights. She loved to travel & was fond of visiting with relatives & friends,

Her greatest pleasure in life was watching her children & grandchildren participate in sports & other activities.
StellaMae suffered through a number of health issues in her life but never complained, she was a fighter right to the end and an inspiration to us all.

StellaMae leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband John, five children Ken (Jill) Vertz of Sherwood Park AB, Greg (Debra) Vertz of Winnipeg, Deanna (Phil) Hay of Anola MB, Ron (Diane) Vertz of Calgary AB, Christie Bjorklund (David Senchuk) of Winnipeg; ten grandchildren Karnie (Cori), Kiel, Vanessa, Courtney, Erin (Russ), Michael, Natasha (Kyle), John (Ashley), Gabrielle, & Thomas; four great grandchildren Charli, Reese William & Jack. She is also survived by her brothers Allan (Barbara ) Fredrickson, Nyel (Janet) Fredrickson, sisters Joanne Amey, Vivian Carruthers, Barbara Fredriksson as well as numerous nieces, nephews & extended relatives. StellaMae was predeceased by her parents Johann & Tina Fredriksson, brother Chris Fredriksson & brothers-in-law Hugh Amey & Alvin Carruthers & son-in-law Cliff Bjorklund.

A Celebration of StellaMae's life will be held on Friday May 27, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Willmor Chapel with Sharon Hamilton officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held in the C.E. Building. Everyone is welcome to attend.
