Obituary for Pierre Ernest Joseph "Pete" Raimbault

Pierre Ernest Joseph "Pete" Raimbault
On Saturday, November 5, 2016 we lost a very special husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Pete was born July 3, 1931 in Findlay, Manitoba, the second child of Abel and Germaine Raimbault. The family moved to Wauchope, Saskatchewan and then to the Redvers area. Pete worked on the family farm for a time. He married Claire Carriere on September 2, 1954 in Storthoaks, Saskatchewan, this marriage ended in 1975. They had five children: Gisele, Brian, Daniel, Marc and Leanne. Pete worked as a mechanic for the majority of his life in Pipestone, Reston, Killarney, Wawanesa and Glenboro. He was a self-taught mechanic, who loved his work.

On April 2, 1976 Pete married Elaine Durston in Brandon, Manitoba. Pete adopted Lori and Trina, resulting in a blended family of seven children. Pete owned and operated his own garage in Glenboro from 1975 to 1999, when he retired. However, retirement was short; Pete bought a small farm at Oak Lake, Manitoba and had fun raising cattle and growing crops until 2004. Pete loved to work, his cabin at Oak Lake, family and socializing, teasing and telling stories with family and friends.

Pete leaves to mourn: wife, Elaine, his children: Gisele (Bill) Harding of Pilot Mound, MB; daughter in law Tracey of Lacombe, AB; Daniel (Kathy) of Reston, MB; Marc (Cheryl) of Drayton Valley, AB; Leanne (Dave) Beskorowayny of Stephenfield, MB; Lori (Ken) Hutcheson of Medicine Hat, AB and Trina (Curt) Wytinck of Glenboro, MB. There are 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren who will dearly miss their Poppa Pete. Surviving brothers and sisters are: Marie (Louis) Verot, Marguerite (Wilfred) Petit, Joe (Joan) Raimbault, brother in law Lloyd Shanner and sister in law Emilie Raimbault. There are also numerous nephews, nieces and cousins who will be saddened by Pete’s death.

Pete was predeceased by his parents Abel and Germaine, son Brian, son in law Glen Rogers, brothers: George, Noel and Jean, sister Bernadette Shanner, as well as mother in law Kathleen Durston.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday November 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Willmor Chapel, Glenboro MB. Following the service a private family interment will take place at the Glenboro Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Glenboro CE Building. Everyone is welcome. Memorial donations can be made in Pete's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation 824-18th St. unit 3, Brandon MB, R7A 5B7 or to the Glenboro & Area Foundation, Box 147 Glenboro, MB, R0K 0X0.
