Obituary for Frank Joseph Roeges

Frank Joseph Roeges
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Frank Joseph Roeges on Tuesday January 10, 2017 at the Baldur Personal Care Home.

Frank leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 57 years, Georgette, (Jackie), his daughter Kim (Daryl), and son Doug (Debbie); his four granddaughters, Rachel (Lee); Amanda, Erin and Brooke, and two great grandchildren, Sawyer and Miller. He also leaves behind his sister Maria, (Bob); sisters in law; Rosena, Mary (Tom); Doreen,. Gerarda; brothers in law Freddy (Shannon), Larry (Karen); Bob (Darlene). Also numerous nieces, nephews and friends & a great number of extended family in Belgium.
He was predeceased by his parents, Karel and Irma Roeges; parents-in-law, Bertha and Camiel Andries; brothers-in-law Lorne, Andy, Leo & Germain.

Frank was born on June 6, 1935 in Swan Lake Manitoba. The family moved to Glenora and then to Baldur to the farm that he and Jackie lived on until they retired to town in 2002.

Frank was a proud and dedicated farmer. Every year after the crops started growing he would check carefully to see that the rows were straight, and was not satisfied if they weren't. He took great pride in his farm and worked hard to make it a success.

Dad loved his family, and would frequently talk about all those girls, girls ,girls, when referring to his granddaughters. He was definitely a people person.
He loved nothing better than a good game of Belgian Bowling with a cold beer in hand and was also an avid curler. Dad and Mom followed Doug's hockey and became dedicated fans of the Baldur Barons through all the years they played. He loved dancing; in his opinion nothing was better than a good two step.
He was soft hearted, and warm; and was happiest when surrounded by the people who loved him most. In short, Dad loved life, he loved people, he loved fun, and was a friend to many.
Rest in peace! You will be missed!

A Celebration of Frank's life will be held on Saturday January 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Baldur Memorial Hall with Sharon Hamilton officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service, everyone is welcome to stay. A family interment will take place at a later date in the Baldur Cemetery.
